| Under Sink Water Filter - Granular Activated Carbon Filters |
What single thing can do all the following and more?
Beware
What You Drink Is
There a Solution? The Inexpensive
Solution It is interesting to note that if you were to give your pet a choice - tap or filtered water, they will invariably choose filtered water. If your cat or dog will not drink it, why should you?!! Granular Activated Carbon (GAC) is a form of charcoal which has undergone treatment being subjected to high temperatures and steam in the absence of oxygen. This process produces extremely porous, small granules which have a surface area on which organic molecules can 'cling' and are thereby 'absorbed'. The surface area per granule is extremely high and one pound of GAC provides the surface area equivalent to 125 acres. The greater surface area of the sponge like granules, the greater the capacity to 'absorb'. The carbon filter inside the water filter housing is known to filter out Chlorine (which according to the National Cancer Institute, increases the risk of bladder cancer by 80% in those that drink chlorinated water), Acetaldehyde, Acetic Acid, Acetone, Activated Sludge Effluent, Air Purification Scrubbing Solutions, Alcohol, Amines, Ammonia, Amyl Acetate, Antifreeze, Benzine, Biochemical Agents, Bleach Solutions, Butyl Acetate, Calcium Hypochlorite, Can & Drum Washing, Chemical Tank Wash Water, Chloral, Chloramine, Chlorohezene, Chlorophenol, Chlorophyl, Cresol, Dairy Process Wash Water, Decayed Organic Matter, Defoliants, Detergents, Dissolved Oil, Dyes, Ethyl Acetate, Gasoline, Glycol, Hebicides, Hydrogen Sulphide, Hypochlorous Acid, Insecticides, Iodine, Isopropyl Acetate, Ketones, Lactic Acid, Mercaptans, Methyl Acetate, Methyl-Ethyl-Ketone, Naptha, Nitrohenzenes, Nitrotoluene, Odours, Organic Compounds, Phenol, Potassium Permanganate, Sodium Hypochlorite, Solvents, Sulphenated Oils, Tastes, Toluene, Trichlorethylene, Trickling Filter Effluent, Turpentine, Vinegar, Well Water and Xylene. The under the sink
model comes with a filter (which needs to he replaced every six months)
and are easy to fit. The under the sink model requires an easy DIY fitting
job and doesn't take up valuable space on the sink top as some counter
top models do. It gives you a separate tap for your filtered water so
all your day to day water (such as washing up water) doesn't go through
this tap. |
